At what altitude do we fly?
Unlike many other means of transport, a hot-air balloon can fly as low as one metre above the ground or as high as more than 1,000 metres on average. This provides a panoramic view of the landscapes all around you. Flights depend on weather and aerological conditions, which is why no two flights are ever identical. We usually fly over the Luberon region between Gordes and Roussillon.
How long does the flight last?
The hot-air balloon flight lasts around one hour on average. The full experience usually lasts three to four hours, including inflation, the flight itself, a regional toast with champagne, the delivery of a flight certificate to each passenger and the 4x4 transfer back to the original meeting point.
What is the temperature like in flight?
It is almost the same as on the ground! During the flight, the burners release heat. You can bring a hat to protect yourself from the heat above your head, but it is still best to bring a jacket or jumper for the preparation phase or after landing.
Why can we sometimes not fly even in good weather?
Because the wind speed is not necessarily the same on the ground and in the air. Above 15 km/h of wind, we must cancel flights for safety reasons.
How many passengers are there in one basket?
We operate shared flights with 4 to 15 passengers maximum in the basket.
